I have a lot of goals.... in my head. I'm not the best one for writing them down.
So how do I know when I've acheived my goals?
How do I measure how successful I've been when I have nothing written down to judge them by?
How do I answer that old question... what do you want to do?
I think maybe it's time I start thinking about this seriously.... and anyway, writing it down can often start setting things in motion.
They say that your goals should be S.M.A.R.T ... that is Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-bound. I have been thinking about this method to come up with a goal I have for my blog (among other things).
What is my goal? - "Within 6 months I will have a blog that I enjoy writing, that people will want to visit for inspiration and to learn something new. It will be a place to hold tuorials, tips and to showcase my designs and creations."
In coming up with this goal statement I have thought about the different specific criteria I can use to measure it's success. I've also looked at the various tasks I need to work through, and a timeline that I think is acheivable, to get to where I want to be within 6 months.
But it doesn't stop here. Each month I will review all of my goals and note down my results. After all there's no point writing all this down if I don't review it.
And finally on a less formal goal setting note I want my blog journey to be FUN! I'm really really excited about all the things I have in store.
